Recently married so I'm selling my custom '02 V-Rod. This bike is in excellent overall condition. Always garage stored. Bike is a real head turner - lowered, wide rear tire kit with swing arm, drag bars - long and lean for that stretched look. The front tire is brand new. Rear is at 50%. Oil was changed with Amsoil. This V-Rod is ready to ride!
I am the second owner of this bike. I purchased it from a custom hot rod builder in May 2006. The bike now has approximately 26,650 miles on it. It has never been abused in any way. Most of the custom work was been done by the first owner and a friend who is a professional HD technician. He built a number of Hot Rods and muscle cars over the past 30 years, and this was his first attempt at a bike. Every effort was made to build this bike without compromise in quality of parts or workmanship. No expense was spared to achieve this. I have a complete and organized record of this build including all receipts.
Please read all of the following information and review the pictures for a detailed description of this bike. As I am not a dealer, the bike is sold "as-is" and there is no warranty implied or otherwise. I will be happy to answer any and all questions and provide additional information as required. The rear wheel has a minor cosmetic defect that I've never been bothered by enough to repair - the inside of the rear wheel is scored from a loose caliper, but very difficult to see in person. Otherwise minimal normal wear and tear.
This is an exceptional bike and I have enjoyed it immensely over the last 9 years. I've ridden it on many long rides from my home in Virginia - several times to Canada, Michigan and even Key West. For a bike with drag style cafe bars and forward controls, it's reasonably comfortable on the highway. Sale includes a windshield and second rear seat with backrest and chrome shelf. See photos of both rear seats.
Description:
The rear-end of the bike is fitted with a chrome Performance Machine 18x8.5 wheel and a 240/40 tire. The tire and wheel fit inside the chrome swing-arm and rear fender. The rear turn signals have been relocated to the upper shock mounts. The license plate has been relocated to the left side lower shock mount. The rear PM pulley matches the rear wheel. The rear shocks are adjustable Progressive 440's, and set about 2" lower than stock. There are absolutely no clearance problems with the tire or belt, and the tire and wheel are positioned on the centerline of the bike. This is most important for handling and often done poorly with wide tire kits. Not so with this customization. Handling is awesome! A custom chrome plated Brembo caliber and fixed rotor replaces the factory rear brake setup. The pads and rotor are only six months old. The turn signal stanchions and levers are brand new and chrome plated.
The front-end is fitted with a matching chrome Performance Machine wheel and chrome plated Brembo calibers and full-floating rotors on either side. The front forks have been lowered about 1 1/2". The factory gauge pod has been replaced with a custom designed and CNC milled billet gauge pod that houses a 3 3/8" Auto Meter analog tachometer and two Dakota Digital 2 1/16" gauges that accommodate all factory functions and a few more. These gauges have a chrome front bezel with non-glare scratch resistant lens and a machined aluminum housing. The standard indicator lights are also installed. The factory pull back high-rise bars have been replaced with Café style bars with a low rise.
Only a few significant changes to the motor have been made. A Screamin' Eagle Stage 1 kit is installed, and the factory exhaust has been replaced with D & D slip-ons. There are a few small swirl scratches from aggressive polishing. The intake air temperature sensor has been relocated per factory recommendation. A DynoJet Power Commander was used to optimally tune the bike by an authorized DynoJet tuner. Currently the Power Commander is not installed. It was removed during the original build to simplify the extensive electrical work required when the new gauge pod and gauges were assembled. The bike runs perfectly without it, but it is running on the stock HD Stage 1 map.
