Originally a Texas bike until I bought it in August of 2013. In service with a Texas sheriffs office from 1998-2002, then titled to a single owner in Texas from 2002-2013. Had a clean clear Texas title now has clean clear Illinois title. Older repaint to flat black with gloss black ghost flames. Right at 69k but I have only put about 1500 miles on it since I bought it. It is a second bike for me.
All this stuff is new:
Anything in the brake system that needed to be replaced
Tires (wheels gloss black powder coated)
Wheel bearings
Handlebar bushings
Battery
Spark plugs
Air filter
Cam seal, cam position sensor and cam bearing (upgraded to Timken)
Lifters and adjustable pushrods
Speedometer drive
Engine temp and barometric pressure sensors for EFI
For a higher mileage bike, this thing runs GREAT. Runs smoothly and solidly even on the interstate. Shifts well although you do have to occasionally bump the throttle to get into neutral at a dead stop. Cold starts after only a couple of cranks and warm starts the second you push the button. Does not burn any oil but has typical base gasket seepage which leaves a residue on the engine. I never considered it a big deal. It will drip a couple of drops from the bottom of the engine case after riding but I just put an absorbent mat under it in the garage. The paint shows it's age and has a lot of blemishes. I was going to take the bike apart and repaint it when I bought it but the paint on it now has a kind of patina to it. The license plate on the dash was to replace the cover that was missing. I cut it out and stuck it on there with the intention of custom making a cover but had a number of people tell me they thought it looked cool the way it was so I left it. There is only one key which locks the right saddlebag but doesn't work the ignition (I'm not sure what happened but it was that way when I got it). The lock for the left saddlebag was missing so I plugged the hole. The radio does work but I never use it. Without handlebar controls it is kind of tough to work while moving.
This is an old Harley, and while it rides and runs very well for it's age it does rattle and squeak but that is to be expected. This bike is being sold as is with no warranty.
I WILL ONLY RESPOND TO INQUIRIES WITH EMAIL ADDRESSES. I am tired of leaving voicemail messages for people who claim to be interested but never return calls.
